The events team at Investment Europe Magazine, part of the Incisive Media brand, came to Covered Speakers Bureau as they were struggling to find an inspirational Italian speaking female sportsperson who could both speak & inspire their audience of female investment professionals, as well as host their awards ceremony, for their inaugural Women in Investment Awards Europe, which was to beheld at the prestigious Palazza Parigi Hotel in Milan Italy. Their awards dinner would be bring together 180 female investment professionals across Europe recognising the best of the industry.
Covered suggested Veronica Plebani, a notable Italian Paralympic athlete, who spoke to nominees about her inspirational story having contracted meningitis at an early age in life and being left with considerable scarring. The team decided to book Veronica who spoke on the evening about overcoming her mental battles of being left with scars across much of her body & face, to then go on and represent Italy in the 2014 Winter Paralympics Winter in Sochi and then Kayaking at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio. Veronica’s then hosted the awards ceremony with winners collecting their awards up on stage and having their photo taken with Veronica.
